Down the Count
Release date: July 26, 2026.
Platforms: Web, Windows, Linux.
Coding Language(s): Odin.
Engine/Libraries: Karl2D.

A small puzzle game about helping 4 people escape from a count's manor by using their unique abilities.
It was initially made in about 5 days for the GMTK 2026 game jam.

This was my second project using the Odin programming language, and this time I used a framework called Karl2D. The development experience was pretty smooth and the biggest obstacle was designing the puzzles, since I had not done any puzzle games since 2014's Extreme Interdimensional Crate Pushing (Which was really just a rage platformer disguised as a puzzle game...)

The five characters in this game were based off of Mii characters in my game of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. In this game, you add custom characters that live life on an island and can eventually marry and have children. The four protagonists are the children of various fictional characters, whereas Count Venizi was based on a friend's bizarre Bloodborne character.
